You could have the most sophisticated website of all times but how does it feel if it appears on the last page of search engines? Or how will you be able to win and grab the SEO title in contests such as Busby SEO Challenge if you lack certain knowledge and tactics on search engine optimization?
Search engine optimization has been a buzzword for years and has been an integral part of online marketing. Its a fact! Even though your website is designed by a popular web developer and has an extensive database your effort and money could have been put into waste without efficient and systematic search engine optimization. The ABCs of SEO will help businesses to increase sales and traffic in all major search engines like Google Yahoo and MSN.
According to Forrester Research Inc. 81 percent of consumers rely on search engines and directories to find products and information they need. Thus making it at the top spot or at least ranking high on search engines is extremely crucial to marketing your business.
Unfortunately a lot of misconception and misunderstanding have been attached to search engine optimization. Just like any other field of technology SEO is not a static field. A research conducted shows that there are no specific keys to optimizing your sites and search engines often change and leave us clueless on whats the next tactic for achieving the highest ranking.
Whats wrong with search engines? No one could ever guess! Why? Although SEO specialists search for the most relevant and most used keywords the fact is we cannot specify the exact keywords or key phrases used by each individual. SEO specialists and keyword tracker could just give the exact keywords and key phrases that can oftentimes mislead the internet searchers.
Always keep in mind that most users key in vague keywords whenever they do their research. Especially when a user searches for outdated information search engines oftentimes give some irrelevant content. Its a very wrong impression that keywords are the lifeblood of optimizing your site. No matter how keyword rich is your site but it contains obsolete and nonstandard content the chances are lower rankings.
Website owners and SEO specialists just keep on defining keywords that are way familiar to them. There was this old adage that says we should put ourselves in the shoes of others so here it goeswhy we fail to optimize websites is because we dictate our own keywords not what the searchers search for. Keep in mind that we use different jargon and language and most of us differ in identifying and understanding things.
Not all people uses the keywords the same as ours. For example if a person is not familiar with Iphone he would search it on the net and type in phone with touch screen or newest phone 3G. Probably he would arrive at wrong search results or interpretations.
This is how complicated a search engine optimization is. You dont just need to develop your keywords and key phrases on how you would like to use them but how users are more likely to use them.
Moreover make your keywords merge with quality content. So whenever a user typed in a vague or a non keyword the content could easily solve the searchers query. In fact having good and quality content plus strategic keywords are two of major adjustments that SEO specialists must deal with.

O2 the mobile telecoms company have recently surveyed small businesses about their working arrangements so I read in one of the nationals earlier this week.
The article made interesting reading and reported that O2s survey conducted amongst 530 small businesses found that 50 per cent of the companies contacted; do not work in a formal office environment. Of this 50 per cent 24 per cent did have an office but spent most of their time working remotely or from home. A further 18 per cent had made the transition to this style of working within the last few months.
The survey also found that almost two thirds of companies that are still working from fixed offices plan to give them up and move back home within the year.
The main reason apparently is the credit crunch spiraling fuel and therefore commuting costs and the rising cost of office space.
Who can blame them?

How E-courses Helped An Internet Beginner
How E-courses Helped An Internet Beginner
During my first six months on the internet I have amassed a collection of many different ecourses. Most of these ecourses have been very informative and have pointed me in the right direction. As far as the daytoday lessons go they are usually short and quick to read. I like this because it allows me to learn something new every day but not get bogged down with too much information. For simply supplying my first name and email address I have received a number of ecourses on a number of topics.
One of the ecourses I have received is about writing articles. I have used this information to improve my own article writing skills. Although I have not mastered the art of article writing I am definitely further along now than I was six months ago. I have used articles to drive traffic to my site and provide valuable oneway links.
Another free ecourse was about search engine optimization SEO. Before the free lessons I had no idea what SEO was. Now I continue to receive lessons and I continue to learn more and more optimization techniques. I have used this free information to optimize my site to the best of my abilities. Now I know there is always room for improvement but the SEO techniques I have learned have helped me achieve a number one ranking in Google for the term Ebooks for Beginners. So again the free ecourse has helped me get started in the right direction.
One page on my site discusses Public Domain. You guessed it I acquired my very basic knowledge from a free ecourse. I liked the ecourse so much I decided to become an affiliate of the person providing me the information. In this case the course has been a winwin situation. I have learned a little about public domain and the individual who sent me the information has picked up another salesman.
One ecourse actually two were about creating my own ecourse. I took the time to print and read their lessons and used the information to help build my own ecourse. So now I have my own course teaching others about ebook basics and I am starting to grow my own list.
In the near future I plan on creating a mini site to sell my first info product. How will I do it? Where will I get the know how? Thats right from an ecourse about creating my own minisite. I have read the information and plan to put it to good use in the next 30 to 60 days. The daily lessons in this course are pretty long compared to most other courses I have received. The individual goes into a great amount of detail and I look forward to using the information he has provided.
The last ecourse I want to discuss is about affiliate marketing. Now I am nowhere near starting my own affiliate program but hopefully six months from now this will be a possibility. I have taken the time to read the lessons and hopefully over the next few months I can start putting some of the ideas into action. Once again taking free lessons applying the information and continuing to grow my business.
In my first six months as an internet beginner I have signed up for a number of ecourses.I have learned and continue to learn such topics as writing better articles search engine optimization Public Domain creating mini sites and last but not least an ecourse on creating my own ecourse. So for me and I assume many others these free ecourses have been invaluable to an internet newbie.
