• Only once they click on the link or reply to the message is their email address added to your optin list.

Pros: Less chance of spam accusations; Lower potential for abuse; Increase in advertising value; More responsive list

Cons: Slower list growth; Lost subscribers due to missed confirmations

So which one should you choose?

A Marketing Sherpa study found that email marketers who used confirmed optin email enjoyed lower bounce backs and unsubscribes and twice the average open rates although they do have smaller lists and this continues to be the industry trend.

Assess the pros and cons of each and choose one of three optin email methods. Otherwise you’re sending spam and that will cost you immeasurably.
