PPC Search Engines Revealed – 5 Things You Need To Know

The pay per click PPC search engines have created a new wayfor websites to advertise and increase traffic to their sitesand it is very affordable. There are a variety of things aboutPPC search engines you should know so read the followingsuggestions and educate yourself on PPC advertising. Once youknow how pay per click advertising works you will be able toutilize this affordable advertising tool to increase yourwebsite traffic.

Tip 1 PPC Search Engines

Also known as pay per click these networks allow websites toplace ads on their search pages targeting a particular keywordor keyword phrase. The website owner does not have to pay forthe advertising unless a visitor actually clicks on the ad andis taken to their web page. Because of this these searchengines and advertisements are known as pay per click becauseyou only pay when someone clicks on the ad. Tip 2 Bidding forAdvertisements

Generally when it comes to PPC advertising you will submityour maximum bid for advertising based on the keywords you areinterested in advertising for. You will then be listed on thesearch page when your particular keyword or keywords aresearched for. However where you rank in the bidding processwill depend on whether you were the highest bidder secondhighest bidder and so on and so forth. For this type ofmarketing campaign it is important that you are close to thetop at least within the top four so keep this in mind whenbidding.

Tip 3 Choosing a PPC Search Engine

Many search engines offer PPC advertising but to get the mostexposure you will obviously want to advertise with the largermore popular ones. You can do some research online to find outwhich are the best and then submit your bid for the keywords youare interested in buying advertising for. Remember the biddingprocess is more competitive with the larger search engines sokeep this in mind.

Tip 4 Click Fraud

Since you pay per click with this type of advertising you canrun into a situation known as click fraud. This happens whenyour competitors click on your ad as many times as possible inorder to run your account dry. This eats up your advertisingbudget and does not allow you to reach people who are reallyinterested in what you are selling. If you suspect this ishappening inform the PPC search engine immediately as there arethings that can be done to help you.

Tip 5 Keywords

So you know the keywords that are the most used to search foryour product however they are really popular and you findyourself entering a bidding war on a small budget. Do not dothis. Instead switch to cheaper keywords. You will still getmany hits and you won’t deplete your budget

10 Ways To SCREW-UP Your List

10 Ways To SCREW-UP Your List

Just in case you don’t know your LIST’ is you list of optinsubscribers who have taken the time and effort to personallysubscribe to your newsletter or ezine………..

Treat them like GOLD!

However after nearly 7 years online seeing quite a few classicexamples of how to use abuse and lose your list including oneor two made by myself and of course the megahype and welldeserved it is about the rocksolid vital importance of yourlist…… people still mess things up……..

Here are my Top Ten ways to avoid getting things Soooooo wrong….

1. Backup your list of subscribers regularly. Don’t expect yourwebhost to do this for you or to be reliable. If the servercrashes is hacked infiltrated with a virus blowsup…… yourlist could be gone forever. I personally lost 12000 subscribersbecause one host I used simply closed down without notice.

2. If you spend half your time building up genuine optinsubscribers only to be tempted into buying a readymade’ listin order to boost your numbers…… watch out! Unless you arepaying TopDollar per subscriber name on one of these lists thechances are the list is useless worthless and has beenharvested by a spammer. This will result in spam complaints andhave you closed down.

3. Deliver WHAT you say. If you tell your subscribers that youwill send them a newsletter or ezine which contains newinformative articles plus possibly guest articles maybe on acertain subject perhaps maybe tips jokes QA section specialoffers or discounts which are only available to subscribers andnowhere else then DO IT. Look if you promote your newsletteras providing great content targeted at say FemaleBodybuilders’ don’t include content on nonrelated subjectsor even subjects that may be considered unrelated but which youthink have a tenuous link.

4. Deliver WHEN you say. If you say your newsletter or ezine ispublished monthly then the subscriber is within reason toexpect 12 copies a year. If you then send them 37 copies oreven 3 in a year that will disappoint them. Some publisherschose daily that’s fine providing you tell your subscribersand the daily newsletter isn’t too long and has qualitycontent. You must also be one time within reason. A MonthlyNewsletter should be sent on roughly the same day / date eachmonth. Weekly on the same day if possible.

5. Don’t offer free ads to new subscribers. This is a HUGEpitfall by many publishers. In order to get more subscribersthey offer a free classified ad to each new subscriber. I haveseen newsletters / ezines which do this and because they dothey must publish each new subscribers ad. The reason why it’sso wrong is simple. Firstly it is typical for someone ONLY tosubscribe in order to get a free ad. If so they are worthlesson your list because they are not interested in your contentor for that matter interested in anything else apart fromgetting THEIR ad in your newsletter they will never read therest of the content just look for their own ad. Next if youhave a number of new subscribers and each one has submitted afree ad for your to publish this will simply fillup yournewsletter with free ads which most people won’t even read.I’ve seen ezines with up to 200 free classified ads. Would YOUread each one? No.

6. Limit your paid advertising. Unless you are providing anewsletter or ezine which is completely aimed at providingadvertising and your subscribers WANT to see all adverts don’tcram it full of Ads. A few well placed chosen adverts tobreakup the newsletter or ezine is fine after all if you canmake a few bucks without reducing the quality of your contentthat’s fine. But if you really think that subscribers reallywill actually READ your newsletter from top to end every issuewhich has more adverts and less valuable content you are sadlymistaken. Here’s another tip….. as subscribers get bored withhigh levels of ads and lower levels of good quality contentthey will read less which means they will not click on adseven the good ones the advertisers will notice that theclick0thru rates are low and will not be willing to pay toadvertise in your newsletter or ezine. It’s a vicious circle.

7. Multiple Newsletters. If you run multiple websites it may bethat you try to get subscribers from each one. Perhaps onewebsite is Female Bodybuilders another is Niche Marketing forMums another could be Homeworking Secrets and then perhapsDirect Mail Tips. Whatever the categories it is likely thatthey are all different and if you promote a newsletter which ismeant to target each category make sure the newsletter contentreally is targeting correctly. Too many publishers / marketersuse this multilist approach but abuse it by sending the exactsame content to different targeted lists. If you sign up for theFemales Bodybuilders Newsletter and receive content aimed atNiche Marketing….. wouldn’t you be annoyed?

8. If for some reason you decide to move webhost this ofcourse means a new server with a new email server new IPaddress…. etc. The chances are you will use a shared servermeaning other people will have their websites on the sameserver as you or others have shared the server before. Whatthis means………..could be trouble for you. Many of the antispamagencies blacklist or block emails which are delivered fromcertain servers or IP Addresses. If by chance the server youare on has been used previously by some moron spammer it maybe that it’s the server / IP Address of the server which isblacklisted. This means anyone else other than the spammertrying to legitimately send email / newsletters / ezines couldalso be blocked. Check first with the webhost provided if theirservers are blocked or blacklisted anywhere. If they can’t orwon’t tell you ask them for the server IP address which you cancheck with certain spam blocking services to see if its alreadyblacklisted. If you webhost won’t even tell you this findanother host.

9. Don’t treat your subscribers as if they are MoneyBanks. Somepublishers think that they should squeeze cash out of everyoneand do it multiple times a year. Not everyone will buy productsor services from you not everyone will click on theadvertising… it might be difficult to believe but some justlike reading articles and good content!

10. If you exclude your readers you will alienate them. Askthem for feedback questions comments even articles and usethem or at least reply to them. Readers like to see you showingan interest in their opinions.
